My first Christmas Experience as a Secondary School student

contributed by Jeremy Grech, Class 7P

This year’s Christmas Experience was a truly successful one. I really enjoyed the way it was planned out. Everyone worked hard to prepare the products that each stall was going to sell. There were the traditional Maltese stalls which sold traditional Maltese food and sweets such as the delicious ftajjar, imbuljuta and pudina. The dessert balls, hot dogs, coffee stand and the Maltese table were quite a hit! Mince Pies and Chocolate truffles were also available.

The art stalls were very creative and they comprised string art as well as painting on wood and ceramics. Our students also made a beautiful banner which was displayed in the canteen.

Felt decorations and wooden decorations were also being sold.  Some of the felt decorations looked like shirts but their purpose was to hold wine bottles. There were also wooden decorations which were rather challenging to make. Other products such as handmade soaps were produced and sold from various stalls.

Religious activities such as ‘Prayer Spaces’ and the ‘Live Crib’ helped us appreciate the true meaning of Christmas.  Beautiful nativity figures were also sold during the Christmas Experience. One of the stalls wasn’t selling things at all. This was the stall named ‘Message to a Stranger’ which made crafts aimed at inspiring our visitors to embrace the Christmas spirit.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the students and staff who helped prepare this wonderful event.
