Seminary Students

Participating in a student mobility shows that you want to broaden your educational horizon: well done! It is also an opportunity for personal growth. For most of you this Erasmus+ experience will be your first time abroad, away from your families for a relatively long time. Most probably it will also be your first time trying to navigate your  daily lives away from your homes. Therefore, adequate preparation for this rewarding experience is necessary, especially to face the possible prospect of homesickness and insecurity. Asking for help at any point of the mobility is the proper way to address such concerns.

When going abroad, you will always be accompanied by two members of staff from our school, whom you would have more time to get to know before the actual mobility happens. These meetings usually occur during break-times to ensure that everyone is aware of their duties and responsibilities. These meetings also include providing the necessary information about the hosting school, explaining the travel arrangements and getting used to the culture of the country so that you know what to expect once you are there. This is not a holiday; you should make an effort to immerse yourself in a specific learning environment and in the customs of a particular country.

When it is our School’s turn to organise a student mobility, students who would have gone on mobilities before will be given preference to host the foreign students. If possible, you will also be hosting the same student that hosted you when you were abroad, so as to strengthen the friendship that you would have started building.

During a mobility, you will be the foreign student’s buddy. Apart from hosting the student, you will also be responsible to show him/her around the school, introduce them to other students and take care of them in general. Through this approach, the social interaction and integration among students will be smoother and will also ensure that guest students do not feel isolated.

The School will inform the students about the availability of a mobility and if you are interested you will be asked to fill-in an online application.
