Can you think of 10 uses for an umbrella?

Contributed by Hugo Dreyfuss, Year 7R

Last Wednesday, us students of year seven Romero had a mentor session as scheduled. We were expecting a normal mentor session but we were all wrong! Right after saying the prayer, our mentor, Miss Ruth Ebejer, drew an umbrella on the whiteboard and told us to bring out our notebooks and write or draw different uses for an umbrella! We were all thunderstruck because we weren’t expecting this. Some of us found this really easy whilst others found it harder to progress. The ideas we came up with were really cool. One student, for instance, imagined the stick as a gun and the fabric as a shield. The umbrella could also be used to glide from high places, as a bowl or a boat. Later we all came out smiling and laughing at the ideas that came to our minds. Thank you, Ms. Ruth, for the mentor session!
