This year we have decided to introduce the Maltese language as from Term 1, in order to help the children enhance their vocabulary, fluency and exposure to the Maltese language. Therefore, during the storytelling lessons, we have started narrating Maltese stories as well. After a story is read, the boys take part in various activities, which aid their communication skills. During one of the lessons, the well-known fairy tale ‘Barnuża Ħamra’ was read and one of the activities in which the children participated was the role-play. Some boys were chosen to act out the different characters in the story while the rest were given the role of narrators. The actors, narrators as well as the use of props made the story come to life!
