As part of our Mathematics curriculum, the boys in year 1 learnt about numbers that are smaller or greater than each other. Therefore, the lesson started off with a number song, where the boys sang the numbers and practised their formation.
Subsequently, we moved on to identifying the numbers on a number line with the help of an online game called ‘Helicopter Rescue’. The boys listened to a number and had to press the correct one to save the person on it.
In order to strengthen their confidence with identifying smaller and greater numbers, the boys then used their interlocking cubes to build towers. Finally, they were asked to identify the larger number and the smaller number. This was another opportunity for our students to learn Mathematics in an interactive and enjoyable way.
