Outdoor Fun at the Seminary

contributed by Ms. Annalisa Azzopardi, Class Teacher Year 3.2

Studies have shown that play is essential to any child’s development. It helps to develop problem solving and critical thinking skills as they are provided with the opportunity to act on their own free will while building their self-esteem, confidence and autonomy.

The Year 3.2 students during some free time were allowed to roam around in the designated area provided while encouraged to explore the beauty of nature around them. In fact, as a team, a group of students during such a time decided to build different habitats, using the resources available in the area, for the different small animals they usually encounter. This has allowed the students not only the opportunity to help nature and its species, but to also improve their social and teamwork skills.
