Spirit Combat is a synthesis of many different martial arts styles. It was founded by Soke Brian Dossett in 1958 in the UK and was introduced in Malta by Kancho Adrian Axisa in 1985. We have been training Spirit Combat since 2013 with St Aloysius Group and we are currently brown belts and are training for the black belt. The training syllabus which we follow is based on the principles of physical and mental health and safety. Disciplined and effective safe training methods are at the core of what we do during every training session. We train twice a week. A typical session includes about half an hour of warming up, strength exercises and practising break falls. The remaining hour is dedicated to learning techniques that can be used to prevent, deal with and overcome all kinds of violence and attacks. Spirit Combat is a sport that can be practised and enjoyed by all, irrespective of age and gender.
