The Seminary going Green!

We have never until today experienced such a chaos in our cosmos. Fuelled by a culture of waste and consumerism, this new form of colonialism is unscrupulously claiming the land to wield and build. It is thus high time that we “encourage and support an ecological conversion.” (S. John Paul II, Jan 17 th , 2001 – Catechesis)

Saving our common home and the future of life on earth is not only a civic duty but a moral one indeed. We are thus compelled and impelled to do something about this indigence, which is why we felt the urgent need to install a water point on our school premises so that whoever frequents them, be it students, parents and staff, may now be able to refill their own bottles without having to buy a one-time-use plastic water bottles.

This is just one conscientious measure that we thought of taking in the course of this academic year. Meanwhile, there is an extensive list of proposed projects that should come to fruition in the coming weeks and months with the hope that this responsible attitude towards the environment will be adopted by each and every community member at the Seminary, that we may come to witness that we can each make a difference.

The younger and future generations will unfortunately have to face abominable consequences if we refrain from embarking on this journey. This dire situation calls for inter-generational solidarity. For the world we have received is not for us to exploit but for us to preserve and pass on to future generations.
