As is now traditional, in the primary school, every day during the second break, we have a different club. These clubs are optional for our students. They give them an opportunity to do something different, depending on their interests.
On every alternate Monday, Mr Pierre meets up with the School Council, and together they discuss issues pertaining to school life. On Tuesdays, Ms Daniela meets up with the EkoSkola committee and together with Ms Chantelle and Ms Joan, they plan ways on how to take care of the school environment, preserve it sustainably and embellish it further. On Wednesdays, Mr Raphael shares his passion for comics with a group of boys in the school library. They learn the art of comic writing and designing. On Wednesdays, a group of children also take part in the cleaning club, during which they enthusiastically clean up different areas around the school.
Two more clubs are about to start. These are directed towards the early years. Ms Daniela will be meeting up with Years 1, 2 and 3 boys for a storytelling session during their second break. On Fridays, Ms Daniela will be running a session with Years 1, 2 and 3 students about Animal Awareness, during which they will discover interesting facts about wild animals.
In the meantime, every day of the week Year 6 boys organise games for the Years 1, 2 and 3 students. This initiative is taken under the supervision of the school staff, but the Year 6 boys choose and lead the games themselves.
These clubs are becoming more and popular with our boys as they give them a chance to do something different!
