Vacancy: Deputy Head in the Primary Section

The Archbishop’s Seminary invites applications for the post of Deputy Head of School – Primary Section on a full-time indefinite basis.

The successful candidate will form part of the Senior Leadership Team and will assist the Head of School in the educational, pastoral, administrative and operational leadership of the Primary Section.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting and deputising for the Head of School.
  • Supporting the implementation of the School Development Plan.
  • Leading and coordinating curriculum planning, delivery, assessment and development.
  • Supporting the educational and personal development of all students.
  • Promoting inclusive practices and ensuring access to learning for all learners.
  • Mentoring and supporting teaching staff, particularly newly qualified educators.
  • Contributing to the professional development of staff.
  • Fostering a positive, safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • Assisting in the effective management of the school’s human, physical and financial resources.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be employed within the Church School sector.
  • Hold a Permanent Teacher’s Warrant.
  • Have a minimum of ten (10) scholastic years of teaching experience, including at least five (5) years within a Church School.

Preference will be given to candidates holding MQF Level 7 qualifications or equivalent studies in areas such as Educational Leadership, Management, Inclusion, Mentoring, Curriculum, Counselling, or related fields.
