The Invisible Man

contributed by the English Language and Literature Teachers

During our literature lessons with Year 7 students, we are reading and discussing the book ‘The Invisible Man’ by H.G. Wells. The story is about a stranger who visits Iping and is not really accepted by the visitors since he does not give a lot of information about himself. In one of the chapters, he robs Mr and Mrs Bunting and leaves ‘The Coach and Horses’, which is the place where he is staying, without paying the bill. The students were asked to prepare a ‘Wanted- Person-Poster’ and take on the role of the owners of ‘The Coach and Horses’ – Mr and Mrs Hall. In class, we discussed what is usually written on these types of posters. Students had to prepare this at home and include all the necessary information. Here are some posters that the students have created.
