This week during our Science lessons we introduced the topic “habitats”. At first we looked at different animals, then the children were challenged to think about their environment. They all agreed that different animals live in different environments as they need different things to survive, (for example a polar bear needs a cold environment, whereas a camel needs a much warmer environment).
Once the discussion was over, the children were in for a big surprise! They were presented with lots of plastic animals and different resources to create different habitats for these animals. Each group was then assigned a different habitat and they had to create it and choose the animals that lived in their habitat. As you can see in the picture it was pure fun! In the end the animals really liked their new habitats
