Update regarding the installation of a smart water station at the Seminary<\/h2>\n

Last year, our school’s EkoSkola committee came first in a quiz on the sustainable use of water in which more than 20 schools participated. The prize is a large smart water station costing over 12,000 euro, sponsored by HSBC, that filters through reverse osmosis and improves the taste of tap water, making it suitable for drinking.<\/p>\n

The station is also remotely monitored by the manufacturer to ensure continuous safe supply of water. If we accept the prize, HSBC will install and maintain the station during the first year of use. Following that year, maintenance costs will have to be paid by the Seminary. The station is large enough to provide potable water for all of the Seminary\u2019s needs, including hospitality and use by school staff and students. It can also reduce disposable plastic water bottle use.<\/p>\n

Committees\"2\"<\/a><\/h2>\n

Like last year, the EkoSkola committees are meeting once every week in the Secondary section and once every fortnight during\u00a0the\u00a0students\u2019 breaks. The commitment of these students who sacrifice their only break of the day to improve the quality of life of the Seminary community is very commendable!<\/p>\n

Greenflag award-giving ceremony<\/h2>\n

The Green Flag is\u00a0awarded to schools as a mark of high achievement in environmental education and performance as part of the Eco-Schools Programme lead by FEE, Foundation for Environmental Education. FEE also awards the Blue Flag for beaches. This year, our school has been awarded\u00a0the fifth green flag in a row. This means that for the past 10 years, our school has been in the forefront of environmental performance and education.<\/p>\n

Distribution of recycle bags in the primary classes\"4\"<\/h2>\n

The primary school students will be distributing waste separation recycle bags in all primary classrooms, in a drive to improve our waste management practices in our school.
