Such manipulatives were an instant hit with the students and offered\nvarious options to reach different academic levels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Lately, we have been doing lots of games with playing cards.\nHere are some of the activities that we have done so far:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Forming six different 3-digit numbers \u2013 The children were told\nto choose 3 different playing cards and to write six different 3-digit numbers\nusing such cards on their mini-whiteboards. Finally they were encouraged to put\nthese numbers in order, starting with the smallest.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maltaseminary.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Picture-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1416\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.maltaseminary.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Picture-1-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.maltaseminary.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Picture-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.maltaseminary.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Picture-1-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.maltaseminary.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Picture-1-360x270.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">One Less and One More \u2013 The children were told to choose 3\ndifferent playing cards and to form any 3-digit number that they like, using\nsuch cards.
