June Exam Session 2010

Tue 01 Jun 2010

The Annual Examinations Timetable has been issued. A copy has been distributed to all students and members of Staff at the Archbishop's Seminary. A pdf copy is available for download too.

- EXAMINATION RULES -

  1. During the examination days, students are not to go to the examination rooms before Assembly or between one session and the next.
  2. (a) Students arriving late for their tests will not be admitted if the examination has been in progress for more than 30 minutes.

    (b) Teachers are very careful in setting examination papers to allot the necessary time for their completion. Hence, to avoid pupils rushing through the paper to go on break before the end of the examination no student is allowed to leave the examination room before the bell goes.

    (c) No student is allowed to leave the room during the time he is doing the examination except for urgent sanitary reasons.
  3. Parents are to justify in writing their son's absence from a test within 48 hours; in case of illness a doctor's certificate is also requested.
  4. Students will be provided with foolscap papers, graph paper and graphical communication sheets; but they must bring their own pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, calculators and geometrical instruments. No borrowing will be allowed during the examination.
  5. No paper for rough work will be distributed. Space for rough work is provided in the examination paper itself.
  6. On entering the examination room, students are to place their briefcases in one place under the guidance of the invigilator.
  7. During these tests students cannot make use of notes, books, etc., unless such use is expressly permitted in the question paper. Students who are in possession of any notes or books during a test, will have that particular test annulled. A student's test is also annulled if, while correcting, the teacher sees that he has copied.
  8. Students are to sit according to the seating plan and are not allowed to change their place for any reason. Those who do so are liable to be suspended from that particular session.
  9. Every student is to sit in such a way that the one sitting behind him cannot read his paper.
  10. For the Graphical Communication exam only, a student may stand if he so feels the need. Due attention is to be given not to distract the other pupils in the room.
  11. Students are to check that they are given the right paper and that no part of the examination paper is missing. They are to read and follow any instructions that there may be in the examination paper itself.
  12. No questions are to be asked unless there is an evident mistake in the paper.
  13. Any talking, whispering, signalling or communicating in any way with other students will be considered as forms of attempted cheating.
  14. (a) All unused foolscaps should be handed in to the teacher supervising the examination.
    (b) Students are expected to write their name on every paper they use.
  15. After leaving the classroom, students should not loiter in the corridors, but are to proceed immediately to the playgrounds.
  16. Please read also paragraphs 41-46 of the School Diary.
