A visit to the Public Library and Borg in-Nadur

On Wednesday, 30th April 2008, the Form 1 students went on a school outing to the Public Library in Floriana and to Bor[ in-Nadur. At about 9.30am we arrived at the library; here, there was Ms Doreen Borg Zammit, the librarian, who explained to us about the different sections. First we entered the juniors’ library where we had the opportunity to read some books and afterwards put them back into place. Then we went to the reference section where Ms Borg Zammit explained that we could not borrow books from here but only take them out of place to study from them. Then we went to the audio visual room where she told us about its uses.

After the Public Library we went on our coach to Bor[ in-Nadur, Bir\ebbugia. We got off the coach and travelled on foot to Bor[ in-Nadur where we found Mr Paul Saliba who started talking to us about this place. First we saw how the rocks were put together, and then he took us to a place we had never seen before, a Bronze Age fortress, which was quite steep. Here it is said that recently a miracle happened and some people saw the statue of Our Holy Mother cry.

This was a truly interesting outing and I hope we have more outings like this one.A word of thanks goes to Mr Robert Pisani, Ms Nicole Bugeja, Mr Romeo Giacomotto, Mr Robert Axisa and Ms Sarah Spiteri who accompanied us and to Ms Borg Zammit and Mr Paul Saliba who guided us during the outing.
